Here's the match summary...

Saturday was very warm, reaching about 95°F, and the humidity ranged from about 60% to 40%. The wind was pretty mild in the morning, getting a little more challenging in the afternoon.

On Sunday it rained off and on throughout the morning, and temperatures were much cooler staying down in the low to mid-80s. Conditions were very sporty, especially in the late afternoon.

There’s one group you might notice that stands out from all the others in the HV100 aggregate. No, it’s not a typo. Harley Baker shot a group that was measured and scored at .024”!

After looking it over and having some doubts to the accuracy of that measurement, Harley (a referee himself) did the honorable thing and asked for the scorer to re-measure the group. The second measurement was within .008” of the original measurement so the score was not changed.

Now the current 5-shot, 100yd NBRSA record in the HV class is .027” shot by Ralph Landon in 1975. Harley elected to have not have it submitted for a WR, and while I agree it’s very unlikely to hold up for a world record, it is for sure one of the smallest groups I’ve ever seen. Congratulations Harley!

John Petteruti also shot a new HV200 range record, with a .137” group. Great job John!
DeWayne Wood won the LV100. Harley Baker won the HV100. I won the HV200 and LV Grand.
Jack Neary won the LV200, the HV Grand and the 2-Gun.

Small group awards were won by DeWayne Wood, Harley Baker, John Petteruti and Johnny Tjioe.

I want to give a big shout out to the following sponsors who generously donated prizes to give out on Sunday. Every participant received something, and we gave out over $3,200 in prizes, well over the total entry fees brought it for the match.

Short Action Customs, LLC
LE Wilson

Our next match will be the Fall Finale (last match in the Eastern Region), on September 28th and 29th. Hope to see you there!
