Hello,
Does anyone recognize this stock on a savage action? Who made it? I saw this rifle for sale on the internet but don't want the whole thing, just the stock.

Thanks, Larry

Don't recognize it as a current production Savage. Maybe before my time.
A Savage VLP is pretty close. Just screw on a forend stabilizer like the one in the pic and your there.

Now if your looking for an aftermarket Savage stock suitable for BR thats a different story. Stockade Stocks makes some nice fiberglass units styled for short or long range.

About a month after I bought my Savage model 12 VLP-S I replaced the stock with a long range target stock. I still have the original sitting in a box waiting for a new owner. If you're interested let me know. Art :)

Certainly, I could be wrong, but that looks like the stock I have for an old "J" action. I don't know if the same stock was made for the standard size action, but if that one is for a "J", it won't fit the current models. In case you are unfamiliar with the "J" action, it was the early solid bottom target action. It was/is longer than the current model short action and shorter than the long action.

I have a stock , same as the one oictured with the exception that
mine has no rail underneath the forearm. It was a J length in 22-250
Heavy Barrel. It is looking for a new address.
