Savage "Round Top" Receivers & Bases?

How well do the 20 MOA Picatinny Rail bases from the different manufacturers align from a windage standpoint? Has anyone had any difficulty? I ask because of the design which puts you at the mercy of the radius cut down the center of the mount itself, instead of a flat base design that allows side to side movement limited only by the clearance of the screw holes themselves. Ferrell base

My LRPV has a Ferrell 20 MOA base and there is absolutely no windage or other problems with it.

Now if Ferrell would jus make them thinner

I have 3 Farrell bases on Savage 12s and a 12 F/TR with no problems.

As far as windage problems, the only problem I had was that the F/TR barrel was way off both windage and elevation. I recently replaced the Savage barrel with a Shilen and I removed all the correction from the Burris inserts so the issue was not the base.

+1 on the thickness. You could put an 80mm scope on with those things.
