will a 111 barrel screw onto a 110 action, and will the double end wrenches out of brownells/midway work for both?--I have no knowledge of savage and would appreciate if someone could set me straight. thanks

The wrenches and info can both be had from brownell's also Sharp shoooter supply.

Except for the recent magnum actions, and maybe the new ones that apparently use a pin spanner of some kind for the nut, the threads on all 10, 110 series actions are the same. They use the same barrel nut wrenches too except for the new plain nuts.

Check out this site. As you're browsing around there you'll see the action wrench.

Yes Larry,
Some later models use a smooth nut, one of two types. One having a hole for a pin type spanner wrench, the other completely smooth. Fred (SSS) makes a wrench that works on both of those types.

Suggest using a ....

Barrel vise from Sinclair...

Action wrench from Sinclair

Nut wrench from Midway....SSS...Brownells

The very recent production rifles use a 'smooth' barrel nut...you can buy the new nut wrench..$50....or use a pipe wrench and destroy the nut....then replace it with the old style nut..$15....

Suggest the vise for stubborn CM blue actions & blue bbl's...along with the action wrench....Kroil and a hair dryer for heat too.....

I much more prefer the older Savage rifles......pre Accue stock & three screw action screws...

Yes...... I too... Savage listens BUT who came up with these Ideas...???
The Accustock can easily pinch the action into stress and real poor performance...
