savage model 40

Hi all:
Does anyone have any info on how to replace the barrel on a Savage Model 40. It's a 22 hornet and I called the factory and they said it was pinned in. I was thinking of having a prefit Pac Nor barrel made for it but may change my mind if I can't install it myself. Anyways any help would be appreciated. TIA

Yep............ The down side of the model 40 like the Rimfire models is the barrels are pinned in-place.

Hard for me to imagine that Savage can make these in a profitable manner and keep the pretty consistent accuracy of the 110/10 actions....?

I can't speak for these model 40's but the rimfires Shoot really well...!

Do you have a Savage 10/110....12/112 action rifle... If so, this is your means for a build....
