Hello, anyone got any real-world shooting results from their new Savage F/TR .308 12-twist rifles to report here? Loads, groups, yardages?
I'd really like a 14-twist stock class heavy rifle in .308, but 12 is close.
I also consider a Howa 1500 in .308 or maybe a CZ varmint in .308 worthy candidates, but I am not sure of their twist rates.
Thanks, Steve Long.

Mine will average 0.6-0.7MOA 5 shot groups at 200 Yds with Berger 168 VLDs using Lapua brass and H4895 at about 2800FPS.

It does not shoot 155 Gr bullets as well as the heavier bullets. I tried several kinds of 155s.

168 SMKs cause occasional fliers as well.

The bore is the roughest I have ever seen (think RR track).

Mine is one of the earlier F/TRs and it has a 10 twist barrel regardless of what the specs said. I measured the twist.

It currently has a Shilen 6BR barrel and shoots much better. :D
