savage disassembly question

Hey fellas,

I am getting ready to bed a savage 10 bolt gun and am trying to remove the magazine well and it seems to just kinda hang by a metal tab in the front. How does a guy get this out of there? any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks much for your time.

I have no idea what the "official method" is but when I bedded my Savage 12 the magazine box was held on in front by two "tabs" that that were cut into the lower front of the magazine opening on the bottom of the action. I used one of my good Craftsmen screwdrivers and bent them back far enough to remove the magazine which is not far. The tabs can be tapped back into place when the bedding job is done and the magazine needs to be reinstalled. This is likely not something that should be done too often, but I'd imagine that once isn't going to cause any problems if they're not over bent.
 
Secure the action in a soft jawed vice. Take a large straight blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet, line the bale up with the rear of the mag box. Smack it with the your hand both holting the screwdriver and pulling on the back of the mag box. It will jump right out of the grooves in the action. I do them all the time.
