Thanks once again to Bill Montanoy, who has given of his time to help support and try to grow this AirGun stuff.

Bill is a very good .22rf shooter, and has won his share of our Rimfire Matches, and has placed well out on the road. Once he gets an air rifle, look out!

Well, once again we had some tricky switch winds, which seem to define this venue. It sometimes becomes a race against the clock, trying to find the 2 or 3 conditions that you have identified, and then waiting for them to show. Many times the "condition" only lasts a few seconds, so slapping the trigger is allowed. :D

Mucho props to Scott Gage, who shot this match with a very shakey rest set up. This young man has some scary talent, and I can't wait to see him shoot when he has everything tuned.

Really hope to see more shooters at the next match, my funds are running very low, and if we don't get at least double of what we had (4), then the future of this Match is uncertain at best.

Thanks to all who attended,

p.s. Roger Lovett would have won this match, only he missed/forgot to shoot a whole line of bulls. Our condolences to the lost match, and to Rogers mind, which must have been somewhere else.

match

sounds like every one had a great time.where are those hot shots from up north ? L.D and those guys ? looking at the scores i can see y they didn't show up. keep your power dry.:)

Good queston goofoff. We really need to support each other, however very few of the shooters north of Escondido reciprocate. Sometimes half or more of the shooters at the Temecula matches are from the San Diego area, but we are lucky to have one or two folks from up north at our matches down here.

Yeah, P2k range can be a frustrating place to shoot, but everyone has to deal with the conditions. I have kept the fees down and only charge 15 bucks, even though I usually end up having to pull 3 times that out of my own pocket to pay the rent.

So it's a shame, and I don't know how much longer I can afford to do this. If anybody has any answers or suggestions I would be happy to entertain them.

SD 25 Yard benchrest matches...

Apparently there is another in the works in San Diego....possibly at the San Diego Police Range....??? Heard this recently.....

Yeah, have heard the rumors. Too bad they dont have any benches there. That seems to nix the deal for me, but I am open to suggestion.

Btw, how did you do in Temecula?

5th place out of 6 shooters....wind was consistant at left to right at about 4-6 mph...,but blowing stronger as match progessed...on last target it was pushing about 9-12 mph...

Re SDPD range...I was there last Saturday with about 8 new shooters just for casual target shooting...they had a great time...not sure where their intererests lie...but some want to shoot in benchrest...and as you say,SDPD range does not have benches....

BR in san diego

All you hot shots come on down where the cool breezes are. Crazehorse is right ! the san diego police range is the place. a great place to break in your new gun that you just got or that new barrel that you just put on....more news on this site later for sure.for now sat's from high noon till ? you don't have to sweat it out in that 98 deg heat. temecula ? see you there! just a nother that's new to the game. but don't like the heat.

What are you doing in So Cal then, if you don't like the heat?? I know, I know, it's a dry heat compared to Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, N & S Carolina, etc, etc. :D

I checked the Po-lese range today and outside of the old desk sargents they have running the place, looks like a good possibility.

Today it was in the 90's in El Cajon, and the Police Range was just pushing 80 degrees.

Howard has figured out a viable bench situation, and Charlene is working on some backers that look good.

The price is the kicker though, 5 bucks per shooter. If you are a member, the cost is zero! Don't know what a membership costs, but I'm guessing not much. So a move from the Project2000 range looks likely, although there are a couple of hurdles to deal with before that happens.

Will keep everyone interested, posted as to what transpires.

Thanks, John Harris
