Hi Howard....what are the times/requirements/parameters of the matches? I'm looking into getting in some more shooting time and the bench matches might be a nice way to do so. Is there a caliber or power limit of any kind?

Benchrest is brand new to me so if there is any advice or limitations on equipment etc it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Casey

info-benchrest shooting.

Hi Casey, not knowing the area you are in the best is to find out where in your area benchrest shooting is going on and go to one of there matches and just look around and talk to the match director if you need some answers ,most would be happy to let you know about all there is to know about whats going on. in our area we shoot whats called BR-50 AND AGBR Matches - no power limit ,range is 25 yds, .177 for BR-50 and .177,.20 and.22 cal's agbr target. in BR-50 matchs it 50 shots in 40 min's AGBR it's 25 shots in 25 min's. very easy -just let us know where your at and we can tell you the time and place to see a benchrest match. I have to tell you up front once you start there's no turning back..H.B.:)

I'm in San Diego too. I actually came to the SDPD range a few times when they were still letting us do air rifle fun shoots on the 50 yard range. But since we got kicked out I haven't been back. But I would like to learn and have more fun and if your benchrest matches are amenable to a newer shooter I'm all for it. Thanks Howard,

Casey

benchrest shooting.

Boy Howdy Casey your in luck, we wormed are way back at the police range once again, this is the third time and a charm. we are going to have a Match on June 6th . from 8 am to high noon. this will be the dreaded BR-50 the meanest game in town.and again on the 13th and that will be the easier ARBR target. but you can also come down on Wednesday nights @ the same place in the rock bldg and chit-chat with all the air guners or if you have a air gun you can shoot at that time from about 6pm to eight pm this is a 10 meter indoors set up, very good. Hey for 50 cents its a very good deal. so we will be looking out for you ! Cee Ya...H.B.;)
