Some pics...

Had some issues with my scope...sighters were good, but as match progressed, could not maintain POI...

When I got home, set up on bench on my 25 yd range and checked scope over, and found turret loose for windage...( I knew it was not the wind, because conditions were very favorable for shooting IMO)....

Thanks for posting pictures and results

HB,
Thanks for posting the results of your matches.
Charline and John Great scores! Roger nice X count!

Crazyhorse Great pictures. Glad you found your scope problem.

Paul

Those are really good scores

For the conditions they shoot in. Besides shifty winds, which are an issue, they don't use very stout or heavy benches. I suspect if they had good solid benches, scores would come up even more. Although its sometimes handy to be able to fine tune your aim by leaning a little harder on the bench, it does take a bit more concentration.

My benches need more work as well, but it will take time.

San Diego AGBR'S

Boy Howdy- We are lucky that they let use the range for 3 times a month as it is..it would be nice to have some concrete benches that's for sure..so all you guys that get to shoot on nice concrete benches think about all that can't shoot on them and the scores that are shot on rickyitty old wooden benches.:D all ways thinking of ways to make them better . maybe next month we will see the scores jump up ! some body sure to clean that target next month thats for sure..it could be one of you setting out there ...;) so come see. H.B.:)

Too far for most of us to drive

Well, for me personally, its not just the driving distance, but the cost. By the time I add up the gas, an your range fees an all, its hard for me to justify.

Now at my shoot, I suspect it wouldn't be "all that" either, but we make it into a cookout on the grill an BS session most of the afternoon afterwards, fiddlin with the guns and tellin stories as long as we want, so its apples an oranges anyhow I guess.

See, I already spent a fair amount on my range here, an if it sits unused while I go somewhere else to shoot, well, its hard to justify. Plus, I like the cookout part too.

Even my place, I have so much to do, I can't even justify shooting off the bench at real short range here. I figger what I'm learnin is so much more by doubling the range, its worth to do it, despite the effort, but we tried the short range a couple yrs ago, an it just didnt seem to be revealing as much as we wanted out of it.

I saw the same thing when I used to shoot 10M airguns. Its fun, but the longer distances of the Silhouette and Field Target games draws me away in a heartbeat.

Different strokes i guess.

Thanks for the encouraging words LD. Keep in mind that the fees at the Police Range are only 10 bucks total. I understand about the commuting cost as I have made several runs up to your place. But if you could stay out of the turbo on your wagon it would fall into the reasonable range. :) Hope you make it down here once in a while.

Best Regards,

John Harris

Just saw Richards pictures. Very nice.

I see that you got Howards plumbers butt, but Roger must have heard you coming 'round. Bwaaa-hahahahaha....

more than just scores

:) it's hard to tell but it is 50 yds at the very top of the photo but just below is the 25yd line.that's where are targets are, very hard to see.just about all are scuba filled and most are .177 but some are .22 .i don't think any are .20 cal.someone told me the other day that it's to hard to find good pellets in .20 cal.the guys up at the range in wine contry are shooting at 50 yds for 3shot groups and most at .22 cal.we shoot AGBR and BR-50 targets.i think these are the hardest benchrest targets out there ..hope that answers most of your questions.H.B.:D

Thanks H.B. & C H

Very nice Range Guys, looks like walls block wind ,does wind swirl down in hole. You Guys have great looking Kits, thanks for pics. Great shootin Charlene.....Franky

The wind swirls and switches between the walls...and is worse at one side than the other...the benches in the middle are probably the best to shoot from...vice the ones nearest to the walls...you can sometimes feel wind at your back...but wind at target may be going left or right....

rich's photos

As always great photos Rich. and Charline said thanks.IT's a great range to shoot at , can't beat it. wind goes one way and your pellet goes the other way....it's a good test on your ability to read the wind that's for sure. can't wait for the next match on april 4th.H.B.:)
