We had a good shoot today, despite conditions that could best be described as RAW. Temps in the low to mid 40's, overcast, with switching winds in the 5-10mph range with the occasional harder gust. Even with Rick and Dave opting to shoot both classes, we were lucky enough to finish up before the rain and high winds arrived.

Other than Dave shooting his Rapid in 20fpe class, everyone was trying new guns today. Ricks EV-2 sprung a leak so he detuned his Royal down to under 12fpe. His 20fpe gun was a Rapid MFR that arrived just a couple of days ago. Rick was disappointed with both guns, but I'm sure he'll have them both shooting better before we shoot again.

Paul and Dave shared Paul's new AA400 MPR for the 12fpe class. Paul won the class with it.

I was shooting my CZ 200S which I'm extremely happy with. It shoots way better than a $400 PCP gun should.

Here are the scores:
Under 12fpe
Paul Bendix- 236-4X, 239-4X, 237-3X=712-11X
Todd Banks-240-6X, 235-2X, 233-4X=708-12X
Dave Shattuck(on the much windier second match)234-3X, 238-5X, 230-3X=702-11X
Rick Ingraham-230-3X, 229-5X, 224-1X=683-9X

Under 20fpe
Dave Shattuck-242-6X, 244-10X, 245-12X=731-28X
Rick Ingraham-221-1X, 224-1X, 215-1X=660-3X

Thanks to Fred for setting up his Chrony and scoring targets for us, and to Dave and Paul for making the trip over from MA. to shoot with us. I know Paul and Fred took pictures. Feel free to post them, guys!

Wow, nice scores with the sub 12fpe guns. Dave you have my mojo, you're getting better each match and I'm getting worse.
Wish I could have attended.

Todd and Fred,
Thanks for running the qualifying match. I guess I wasted two dog bones as I thought Bear and Max was going to score.
Love your new target shed ( Wailing wall) set up.
Dan you missed these!

Rick, Nice meeting you and great guns you have. Thanks for letting David and I use your AA fill probe. I will have mine next week.

David shooting my AA MPR FT with my reject (Heavy and Light pellets mixed together)
and almost beat me.

Thanks Fred and Todd for the wind flags as I left mine in my truck when I took my wifes Tahoe because of the rain.

Todd,

Thanks for having this! I had a blast, plus surprisingly moved up in the standings as well along with getting on the board for the 12 fpe Class. Good stuff! Although, I have to say, after being run off the road on the way over I run into a snow storm of near white-out condition on the way home while heading up the West side of Hogback Mountain. It was pretty, and not slippery, but visibility left something to be desired for a little while. Guess today luck was on my side all the way around.

And that little CZ of yours sure does shoot! I had read about what they could do, but now have seen the proof. Good for you!

Paul, Thanks again for letting me try out your new toy, and now I'm even more excited about mine coming in mid-week to have before next weekend at Pinnacle. Plus, thanks for the loaner scope as it will do a whole lot better than my little Weaver T-6 would have. And I can't wait to see if there will be any difference when using pellets that have been weighed, sorted and lubed with our secret lube. But, then again, I didn't catch enough bugs on the windshield due to all that snow, so I might not have enough for the secret lube. Oops, did I say that out loud?

Thanks again,

Dave

Glad you guys enjoyed the match and got home safe! I had a good time, too and will be designating 2-4 benches(more if possible) at our IR50/50 rimfire matches on April 23rd and May 22nd as our Airgun Range for anyone who wishes to attempt to qualify. I will also try to find some free days on our schedule to hold some stand alone AG matches before the deadline for qualifying. Dan, I hope you can make it over for a match sometime!

I did some calculations on the Chrony #s I was getting after the match when I turned the air screw out just 1/4 turn on the CZ. It was shooting at 19fpe and I'll definitely be doing some testing to see if I can get enough shots out of a fill to shoot the sub 20fpe class too.
