Salem AGBR Results 7/14, Guess what? Fred broke his record...twice

I got to the range early tonight to do a little work on our target stands, and set my flags up early. I knew before Fred even showed up at the range that I'd probably be sending another Springer Record target down to AGBR HQ for verification. Conditions were darn near perfect, and I had hopes of shooting my first outdoor 250 in UL class, too. I was half right, Fred Blanck broke his old record of 242-5X with a 244-2X on the first target and then broke that record with a 244-3X on the second target. My Rapid must still have some water in the barrel from the last match at Holbrook and if Fred's scope hadn't screwed up on the last target, he would have beat my UL agg with his Springer:eek: I was so mad at my Rapid that I only shot the first row with it on the last target and then switched to my Walther LGR with under 10 minutes to finish. Here are our results:

Fred Blanck, RWS 54, forearm widened to 3", Time Precision tuner, JSB .177:
Target 1-244-2X
Target 2-244-3X
Target 3-228-0X
Agg-716-5X

Todd Banks, AZ Rapid MKII, Custom BR stock, Kodiak .22:
Target 1-245-0X
Target 2-244-3X
Target 3-241-3X
Agg-730-6X

Hey Fred, Congratulations, you sure do have that RWS54 singing your song!

Happy shooting,
Mitch & Shadow...

Todd and Fred,

Good shooting guys. I only wish that I could have been there to join in on the fun. So Todd, what's up with your AZ? Or ZM? Or whatever it is that Alan likes to call them?

Nice shooting Fred!

Wow Todd I guess the Father's day massacre in Holbrook is still claiming PCP victims!

Good going Fred. Your perseverance, tuning and practice are paying off!!!

Best,
Michael

Dave,
I'm not sure what's wrong with the Rapid. It was shooting some ugly groups on the sighters on all three targets, probably .3's or worse. I tried waxing some pellets and it came back to shooting good for about ten bulls, then fell off again. If I get some time, I'm going to disassemble it and give the barrel a good cleaning and see if that helps. If it doesn't....I'm not sure what I'll do. Got too much invested in it to give up on it, but it really isn't much fun to shoot the way it is now:mad:

Todd,

If you're coming out on Saturday, try to plan on talking with Doug about it. He'd be as good as anybody at figuring it out. Or, you could let me have a go at it :D:D:D!
