Looking for help on a Sako L-46 action----not L461, if there are differences.

1) Anyone know how to strip the bolt to remove the striker and it's spring tension ?

2) Barrel removal-----have barrel vise but no action wrench. Any ideas on how to remove the action from the barrel ?

Will appreciate any information.

Don't know bolt stripping but recommend De Haas for that.

I held the action of an L461 recently in a large crescent wrench across the top & bottom flats with coke can for antimarring without a problem last year. I made sure that the wrench was taken up tight & I used my newest, tightest one. The barrel was fitted in 1968 & broke out easily.

Thanks Butch

That's a very generous offer and I appreciate it.

I'll try some other methods and let you know if I need to borrow it.

Do you know if there are internal action dimensions between the L-46 and L-461 ?

Butch Lambert----wrench

Butch, it appears I'll need an action wrench to remove this barrel. If the offer is still open, I'd like to make arrangements to get yours.

Please let me know how to get in touch with you.

John Kielly, I tried with a wrench across the flats but was concerned about damaging the finish. I do appreciate your suggestion.
