How is the new Sako Quad shooting in matches? I have not seen any threads about it.

Larry : Last year I saw one Sako quad that did very well in the class that it shot in. It belong to Kenyon Harris's brother. Had a good trigger job done . garrisone.

My brother and myself both have a Quad but mine is a little more built than his. His just has a trigger job but I went the whole route with a Stith stock, Jewell trigger (very hard to find) and a Lilja barrel. I have competed in a couple of RBA matches with it and it fairs well. My scores are not indicitive of what the rifle will shoot because I am still learning to read the wind and gain experience (especially looking through a 6X scope). The other part of the equation (ammo) has not been figured out. I hope that I can find the lot and/or speed that it likes and perform a little better. When I got my stock from Stith, he advised that he had just completed building a couple Quads for benchrest shooting so you may want to check with him to see how his is doing.

Larry The quads are a great little package, I've placed mine into a Fibreglass Hunterclass stock, put a 6 groove Lilja barrel in it and use a 6-20X Grandslam Weaver on it. Late last year I competed in our National Hunterclass championships in the Rimfire light class which requires you to have your scope set at 6X. I had only just put it into the fibreglass stock 3 weeks prior to that comp and I finished 2nd in the light class! Ok I haven't changed the trigger put I have set it as low as it can go. I going to get the set trigger that are available for them.
My mate who actually got a quad when they first came out put me onto them. He also has done quite well with his. He put a Lilja on it and has finished mainly in the top ten since.
I wish now that I'd put it into a BR stock before buying a $3300 Anschutz BR50 2013 rifle that I use for heavy class, I reckon I would have done better with the quad.
Mick :)
