Is that number 2?

I am with Butch about a year ot two I saw another post with a stainless Sako that came appart.

Think that is why the model 85 was replaced with the 95.

As far as I know it was a failure of the stainless barrels... there were a few throughout the world... a bad batch of steel...

I posted a bunch of pictures of one quite some time ago... I still have them on my computer but not on a picture hosting site anymore...

But if you go to the ACCURATERELOADING (Gunsmithing) page 448 posted on 20 December 2004 you can see more pictures and all the 53 posts.

Peter, Butch, and Others..

If my memory serves me correctly there were two stainless steel Sako rifles that let go about a month apart from each other. One was a 270 or 30-06 and the other was a .223 Remington. There was a recall of a certain number of serial numbers. As stated by Dennis this involved only stainless barreled rifles.

It was a 300 Win mag that blew up here...
