Sloughhouse Benchrest Shooters held their first IR50/50 match of the year on Saturday, and planned on it being the first one to shoot the new Factory Class, along with our regular Unlimited Match.
We had several inquiries about the Factory match, but as it turned out only 6 UNL shooters showed up to enjoy a beautiful winter day.
Conditions started off sunny, but a bit chilly in the low 30's (I know, but this is the California) but with very mild breeze from the NE.
Shooters took advantage of the mild conditions and Pierre Bigras edged out Greg Wilson in Card 1 with a FM Tiebreaker both shooting 250-15x, Brett Berger 3rd with a 250-13x. Card 2 had 3 more 250's with Brett's 16x taking 1st, Francis Lee 2nd with 15x, and Marcus Byrne 3rd with 14x. Card 3 was Brett again with a 250 19x beating Greg's 17x, Dan Lutke 3rd with a 248-18x. Match 1 was dominated by Brett Berger's smoking 750-48x, Greg 2nd with 748-44x, Francis 3rd at 747-43x.
As the morning progressed the temperature warmed up but so did the famous Ione Triangle winds.
No 250's in the second match high score being Pierre's 249-15x in Card 1 to take 1st, Francis 2nd with a 247-12x, Greg 3rd with a 247-10x. Card 2 was won by Francis with a 248-17x, Greg 2nd with 248-12x, Marcus 3rd at 247-10x. By Card 3 the conditions were typical Sac Valley, switchy headwind from NW to NE making it very easy to miss a switch and pop one out. Francis took Card 3 with a 247-14x, Greg was 2nd again at 246-17x, Dan finished 3rd at 246-13x.
Match 2 was won by Francis with a 742-43x, Greg 2nd at 741-39x, Pierre 3rd with 739-39x.
The overall 6-Card Aggregate AKA the Money Match was hotly contested with Francis Lee and Greg Wilson both shooting 1489's
with Francis winning on X-count 86x to 83x, Brett Berger finishing 3rd overall with a 1487-78x.

I sure would like to see a few more shooters attending these matches, a lot of effort goes into putting them on and special thanks to Match Director Dan for his efforts.
