Changing stock

Consult your manual. If it doesn't tell you here's how I do it:
1) Make sure the weapon is empty.
2) Cock the action so the hammer is in the locked and ready state.
3) Put the safety on.
4) Place a medium Phillips head screwdriver or a steel rod approx. 3/16" dia. into the hole at the rear of the trigger guard. This tang is hinged and there is a tab that locks it into place. Use the rod as a lever to lever the trigger guard tang to the rear (toward the buttstock) while pulling up at the same time. The tang will now spring free, allowing the trigger guard to rotate slightly forward (toward the muzzle).
5) Pull the trigger guard up and out. Note the ears that engage the upper receiver as they will need to re-engage upon assembly.
6) Push the receiver up toward the rear and the receiver will slide off the stock. There is a slip fit where the gas port engages the front of the stock but it will slide off.
7) Take the heat shield from your factory stock and transfer it to the Hogue stock. The heat shield is the flat piece of sheet metal that lays in the bottom channel of the stock and wraps around the nose of the stock.
8) Re-assemble in reverse order. It's really very easy once you do it but refer to your manual and review the dwg. to show how everything fits.
