Ruger 10/22 Receiver - Attempting to Remove Paint and Clear Coat

I am wanting to clear aluminum anodize Ruger 10/22 receiver, as cleaning solvents are softening existing aluminum paint and clear coat.

I have used paint remover and fine steel wool that has gotten most of it, but something is still needed to at least soften paint and clear coat in some spots that remain.

I am not wanting to abrasive blast even at low air pressure.

Wondering if someone could recommend a product to remove or at least soften paint and clear coat that remains that does soft or negatively react to aluminum ?

You might want to take a look over on Rimfire Central. Someone there attempted to anodize a 10/22 receiver and part of it dissolved. They are apparently cast and cast aluminum doesn't take well to anodizing.

Butch:

If cleaning solvents don't negatively react with powder coat, I am game.

Can you recommend a company that does this sort of thing ?

Thanks.
