Doesn't work for 22lr
I emailed them for a couple of months ago. I was trying to figure out a way to predict the exit-velocity of a 22 rimfire bullet in order to better be able to come up with an algorith that described the harmonic connection between barrel and bullet-exit. What I was missing was the pressure-graph of the 22-bullet from primer-ignition to bullet-exit...The RSI seemed to be useful for computing that.
Unfortunately (for me..) the device uses a a type of indicator which responds to barell x-section deformation. From that deformation the software then predicts the initial pressure causing that deformation (expansion) and then predicts exitvelocities in combination with the barells harmonic behavior. Problem is that the pressure of a 22-caliber ignition is to small to be picked up from the outside of the barrel and generaly the ignition takes place further in to the action compared to a heavier caliber. This makes it impossible to pick up any readings...I suggested that maybe it would be possible to mount an indicator inside the barell (or on the bolt..) and the guys at that company said that it might be possible...maybe..Havent elaborated on that idea however...

I took a look at the RSI Shooting Lab .... here's what they said about the target analysis part
"Entering targets into your computer is as easy as placing your targets on the screen and clicking under each bullet hole. The Shooting Lab will plot the location of each hole and anlyze the target in inches or centimeters and minutes of angle (MOA). It will even calculate how many windage and elevation clicks are required to hit the bullseye! For further custom analysis or plotting you can simply drag the output to a spreadsheet."
From my experience I think it'll be kinda hard determining the location of an individual bullet hole in a group of 22 rimfire shots. If the holes are that far apart I have a feeling that you need more than a target analysis program.
I might take a look at the 30 day demo software and see what it's like.

Seems like every time I sit down to shoot a target I plot a shot and figure out how many elevation or windage clicks I need to shoot the bullseye

There was a share-ware program for Macs that did this about ten years ago. I found it awkward to hold the targets on the screen and not very accurate when clicking the mouse in the center of the hole.
Is anyone testing ammo on electronic scoring systems such as Megalink or Meyton?

I always test my competition-ammo indoors on Megalink. I use an excel-program which I wrote to enter the coordinates from each shot and use the software to calculate groups-size, average speed and if I am shooting supersonic.
Works really well, but its in swedish...´
