If interested I thiink I have some purple heart that may be large enough, give me length, width and thickness.

Looking at the prices, I'm guessing that we'll not be framing our houses out of this wood.

I've been to Costa Rica a couple of times over the past 10 years. The whole country is filled with exotic and beautiful tropical woods. I saw some beautiful species with similar coloration to dark Cyprus being used to make shipping pallets.

Go to any specialty lumber house in your area. Call first to see if they have any. Not to cheap.

I bought some tiger striped wood and some coco bolo. Abouth $16 for a piece about 1" x 3" x 12". Made some very nice butt plates.
