Ring height for 12-42 Nightforce Benchrest scope.

I've already got a 20moa Picatinny base on my Tikka T3 and am looking to use the Burris Signature Zee rings. Is there any chance the high rings will work or should I go straight for the extra high rings?

I have the NF 12-42 Benchrest Scope with a 1.125 Barrel and the Burris Signature 1.25" Mediums work just fine. Also have Mediums on both my NF 8-32 Bench Rest Scopes.

But do you have 15/20 moa bases on those rifles?
They can really tilt a scope.

Where did you come up with 1.25" as the height of the medium Burris signature rings? Midway has the extra high rings as 1.02".

Nope, I have 0 MOA rail. I use the inserts for making the change and with the front down and the back up for long range shooting, there is adequate clearance. I figure it is about the same effect. The guy I bought my rings from let me get different sizes and return what I did not need.

SO YOU COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT.
He has a 20 moa base, which will TILT his scope down at the front.

Nope, I did not miss his point. Got that it will be tilted down in order to get the elevation on the projectile with his 20 MOA rail. It was my "thought", that with the lower insert (These are Signature Zee rings in question) in the front and the higher in the back to get the equivalent of the 20 MOA change, that the effect would be the same. I may very well be wrong, but my same scope tilted on a 0 MOA rail to give the elevation for 1,000 yards allows this same scope to work with my medium Burris rings.

Please note I said "I FIGURED its about the same effect. "

I give up.
You never once said you had set up for long range, never.
Why would i question if i KNEW you were set up for long range.
Put it in print, do not assume i know what you are doing.

Cookeville, Tn

I've got a gun shop that has both sizes. I can probably get away with taking my rifle down there and testing both heights before buying. I just figured there would be a lot of first hand experience with this scope and ring combo.

Sounds like the best way to test Zane. I used to live in Franklin, TN. I was going to offer to lend you a set as I have some Medium and High Zee Rings with a full set of inserts as well as some mid-height (1.25") XTR Ring with the inserts.
