Rimfire gun smith in Kansas? Or one of the surrounding states?
Someone who specializes in competition bench rest rifles.

Who & Where?
Thanks!

Thanks to all - I'll see who I can get in touch with.

Another option is to consider Dan Killough, Killough Shooting Sports. He can provide a turn key solution getting all the components, over seeing the testing and tuning and providing ammo that's been matched to the rifle. Richard Gorham who's already been mentioned does his metal work.
Dan did a rifle for me and it's good.

Another Smith one needs to mention is Mark Penrod over in Indiana. He's a perfectionist and turns out some very nice rifles. He did the rifle for the ARA Nationals this year that they give away and it was a real nice.

Another recommendation for (surprise) Gordon Eck. He loves building great rifles for new shooters and watching them grow.

Never figured out why somebody wants a smith close, unless he wants to peer over his shoulder. Post office is cheap. Ship it to the best person.

Looks like I'll have to ship or drive, don't see any names in Kansas!

Butch, who would you go with?
thanks!

Well, Duh

I really didn't know that. Never have been to his house but thought he was from the Ks side of the river.
