Whats Going On In Benchrest Rimfire Heard Nothing Of World Champships Someone Let Me Know Bill Brawand.

Hi Peter. I have heard that the program for the event will be available in the next two weeks! As there are more going than expected I think it is taking time to produce the relay sheets. I or Carlo will post information as it arrives.

World Rimfire Championships

HI Peter, if there 17 country's then it is going to be a good one and we can show the French what they are missing out on as they are not coming due to politics!!:):)

Andy,

From what I hear there are some new countries to the rimfire BR scene coming. What I mean by new is countries who haven’t shot in the world postal or last years European Championships.

I think any fool, who stays at home and misses out on the fun, only has himself to blame.

PS I also heard the poms are buying the first round of drinks.

Acedemia Hotel

just a word of advise. which ever hotel you are staying in, arrange with the hotel to book you a taxi to pick you up from the airport as they will give you a fix price. if you use the cabs outside the airport they will sting you so be aware!!!

Are the cabs over there big enough to carry 4 gun cases, 5 bags/boxes and 3 or 4 people? dj

Yep, as Andy says better ask the hotel, give them your requirements and they’ll send the right sized cab for you. I got one outside the airport last year with no problems and paid the going rate, but the going rate is expensive. Do a search with one of the websites like Tripadvisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/ on the airport your landing at and you usually find lots of good advice including how not to get ripped off at airports, which is difficult to avoid anywhere in the world.

We are all staying in the same hotel and if you think you hear a Jamaican steel band at 4:00am, don’t worry it’s just us falling over some garbage cans on our way home. Their is no recession on down here it’s the land of plenty. I’ll pick up a bottle of Chivas Regal at duty free and you can bring the water.

Andy
For what they are making out of the rest of us, the hotel should give a room for free.

Who's this Keith then? - sure you haven't been on the golden syrup already.

I like the way you Aussie's train for an event.

Brian,

I’m not sure who Keith is either, he could be the guy who is always shooting nines on my target.

Yes in Australia we do train hard and with over 20 hour flying time to Milan and with all that free drink on the plane, you can be sure we’ll arrive in tip top shape.

A question for those who shot at this range in Italy last year.

What’s the story with storage for gun and the rest of your gear?

Can we take our guns to the hotel for the night or do they need to be put into storage from day one. Or would we be better going straight from the airport to the range and dropping all the gear off.

Hi Peter. If you are staying in a local hotel, then it is best to drop off your gear straight away and then walk to the hotel. They have a secure amoury at the range. My hotel would not allow me to take the rifle over night last year. Consult Carlo about what time your flight is getting in and he should be able to arrange for the range to stay open, unless it is 1.00 in the morning??

Hya Guys,
i will contact the hotel to see what they say tomorrow and then put a post up. the British Team will not be arriving till around 9pm so we will have to take the gear to the hotel, but i will check with them if they are ok with this.

cheer, AndyD
