Ok, I am new to this 22RF precision shooting game having shot CF long range prone for a few years.
I understand that with a rimfire, you purchase different lots of ammo and see which shoots best in your rifle, then purchase all of that lot you can afford. Great.
Now, riddle me this: Let's say that the headspace is set on your rifle at .042", what general range of rim thickness do you test and what do you ignore (if in fact you do/can). I would think that there are certain rim thicknesses that will be outside of the Bell curve and therefore a given to not shoot in any precision RF rifle.
Also, Do Anschutz match rifles, 40X RFs and Win 52 all have their headspace set within a certain range. You would think that the high end rifles would all be in a specific head space range that has proven (statistically) to be most accurate/advantageous. I may be all wet on that last statement as I have zero experience with those rifles but it seems a logical question to ask.
Thanks for any experience you may have on this subject.
