Ricky Read Rules Sulphyr Springs!

Ricky Read's 250-24x took first place at the IBS VFS shoot at Sulphur Springs Rifle and Revolver Club near Muncy, PA. He led 29 VFS shooters. Joe Pellegrene was in second only one "x" behind. In addition, H and VH was contested (there were about 38 shooters total), but my memory is not what it used to be! I think Al Kogoy, Jr. won one of the other aggregates with a 250-17x. I think Randy Fritz won the other class, but I am not surer. If someone can post that I would appreciate it. Full results should be posted on the IBS web site pretty quick.

The weather was Chamber of Commerce perfect. Cool morning, mid to high 70s in the afternoon with light breezes. A great September Pennsylvania day.

Bill "Big Bird" Gebhardt was kind enough to loan me his spare Rimrock HV 30BR to shoot. Even preloaded for me! When I got there I asked him, "Did you bring the rifle?" I got an affirmative. "Did you bring the ammo?" Ditto. "Then you can call me bwana the rest of the day!" Going to a shoot with just rests and ear protection is great! :). His rifle did shoot well. I tried some free-recoil, and realized that was an accident waiting to happen, so I held on to the stock for dear life. I shot a respectable 250-20x good for 8th place. I did not want to embarrass myself with my first shots out of a 30BR. :D
