We had a good turnout today, especially for a Holiday weekend. Thank You to all that came to shoot and support the club and the program that we are continuing to build. Special thanks to our new traveling shooter from North Central Pennsylvania, Albert Duster and his wife Nancy. Albert is a springer class shooter that shot his first Outdoor match today. The weather was beautiful, we had mostly sun and clouds and "Some Winds". It wasn't until on the way home that I caught some rain. The grass and grounds for the club looked absolutely beautiful, Thank You to Chris Martin, John Ayers, Mark King, and the membership that takes care of this world class Air rifle facility.

Below is an attachment of the match report. It shows the placement in each Class HV, LV, Open , and Springer. I must say, all of our shooters are improving their scores monthly. This is quickly getting to be a tough crowd to compete against. Joe Chapman won with the best scores in HV class, but he was very closely followed by our friend and his riding companion Jon Wulff. Greg Vaughn shot very well in the morning but wasn't able to stay for the afternoon match. My wife Michelle shot her best scores ever today, Congrats Michelle. Ken Brown, everytime this guy shows up he has another something interesting and he's a wealth of knowledge with airguns… guys like this are why we love our sport.

Eric Simmons, and Francis were neck and neck in the LV class with Eric winning Overall, but not in the afternoon when Francis shot his best scores this year. Their scores were tight and actually landed between 1st and 2nd overall in the HV class, not bad for 12 FPE rifles.

Now to the Springer Class… Mark King got to make a new friend in Albert Duster in the Springer class. As it turns out Mark used to live not far from where Albert and Nancy live in PA. Albert had been shooting very well so I quickly looked up records on the phone. Alberts scores for the morning aggregate beat the best scores turned in for all of 2019 Outdoor 25 meter Springer class. A second quick look and John Ayers noticed that a score has been turned in this year that beats Alberts very respectable 696-13x. Not bad for his first time shooting outdoors. In the second Match of the day Mark beat Albert, but in the grand Aggregate Albert bested marks totals. A very tight race indeed.

I forward all these scores to USARB, they have been very good at getting them entered into their program. Our next match is Oct 3 2020, again I get there before 8am, Gates will be open by 8, we ask that all shooters arrive before 930 to get registered and bench draw taken care of. This gives time to chat with friends and set WIND FLAGS, did I mention they came in handy today? We start shooting at 10am, unless we have a full first relay, then we may start between 930 and 10. See you there and then, Safe travels.

That’s more than two hands full of shooters and a testament to the growth of air rifles in this area. To draw a shooter from Pennsylvania says something about the program at SMGC and the matches Paul runs. Al Duster shot a super match with his Springer rifle. You have to come back some time, Al. We enjoyed meeting you and Nancy. We don’t always have the wind we ended up with for the second set of matches. We let it blow like that to clear the mirage away.
