The morning didn't start out as planned. When I arrived at the club a company was grinding and cutting the cement floor in the second range. You could not see the end of the range.
As people started showing up. We had talked about using the out door range for the shoot. No one had wind flags so we waited until they were done. The range ventilation cleared the cement dust.

Doug Shea won the Unlimited match
Al Joly 2nd
Norm Lieber 3rd
Daniel Finney 4th

20 FPE
Dan Brown 1st
David Shattuck 2nd

12 FPE

Paul Bendix 1st (problem with 12 fpe gun last target shot with 20 FPE gun)

Thanks to David Shattuck for scoring and calling the line.
Thanks to Doug for helping me with my gun problems.
Norm was happy, he shot all three targets with no problems. What ever Dan did to Norm's gun worked!
Daniel found out his gun doesn't like the new lube.

Hope my 12 fpe gun works next week at Pinnacle Mountain.

Paul,

Thanks again for running another fine match, and yes, the dust was unbelievable when we got there. My first thought was: there's no way I'm taking my gun (or myself) into that!

Good luck with getting your 12 ft/lb gun problems worked out before the weekend. From all that Doug had said I do not believe you are up against hugely insurmountable odds of getting it corrected... that is so long as you have a jug of Windex handy.:eek::eek: Sounds more like just going through the motions of getting in there, once again, and cleaning everything up, once again, reassembling everything, once again, then seeing where you are at, once again, and going from there. After all, how hard can it be to fix a little leak? Heck, my guns been leaking ever since I got it. Today I was going through 700 to 800 psi per target on each and every target. Hmmmm, can I borrow some Windex? Oh, and remember, drip it, don't brush it!

See you on Saturday,

Dave

Air leak

My EV2 has a slow air leak . I can not find it with soppy water on the outside . I gees I need to tear it down but I do not wish to . Were can I get O-rings or seals if I need them . Have any of you don this on a EV2 or any Air Arms ?

Larry,
With the late start and range conditions it was just a practice for next weeks qualifying match. Most were testing pellets, lubes, strippers, tunners, mid barrel tunners, repairing leaks, etc.

Dan Brown made a pellet skirt trimmer and several people tried that out.

Rick,

Coincidentally, we just had a lesson from Doug Shea on this very subject while at Holbrook on Saturday. Before tearing everything apart, take a bottle of Windex and just drip a few drops onto the guns surface at its seams, then look for bubbles. Notice how I highlighted the word drip. This is because if you either brush or spray on the Windex there is a strong chance that you will create undo bubbles which could mask what you are looking for. If it's a slow leak, the bubbles aren't going to be very big, and probably will be spaced out by quite a bit between their appearances.

As to where everyone up here buys O-rings from: either from the Airgun supplier/importer, or from McMaster Carr (you can do a Google-search to find them).

Good luck, and hope to see you soon,

Dave
