Gentlemen:
The challenges shooting on Saturday at Blackbelt were huge, We went from having 80 degree near calm conditions on Friday to 30 mph 50 degree shooting on saturday morning.

Three of our shooters which were in town Friday afternoon decided on Saturday morning to seek shelter elsewhere and departed the scene with their pride in tack and match rifles safely stored in the trunk of their cars. I did the same thing with my Springer Rifle

Three of us took to the line in Unlimited class determined to get it done regardless of the wind. Our goal wasn't to break a record or shoot a high score. Our goal was to try and not shoot a zero on the target. I must tell you these were the worst conditions I have ever shot an air rifle in and my scores showed that too. I am happy to report that none of us shot a zero and thank goodness the scoring plug covers a lot of white. All three of us had a shot requiring the plug to score a 6.

I am very pleased to have met a new shooter from Mountain Home, AR. Mr Marvin Reynolds. A true Gentlemen and excellent shooter. Marvin shot the lights out beating us severely. My hat is off to you sir.

This weekend was just one of those where, as the match organizer, you get kicked in the backside. It's just fate and there's nothing to do but hope for better luck next time.

Man I wish there was a match in my area. I own more airguns than powder burners.

Dale,
Organize a match. Last weekend was the first match I ever put on. I am fortunate to have available a range where putting on a match entails nothing more than calling up the property owner to let him know what was going on.

We have a 14 benchrest range. The weather is getting cold and every match shot there is winding down for winter.
I'll see if I can get something going around April 2009.

Dale,

You know you want to! And, besides, once you do you'll always be glad you did. This Airgun thing is an absolute blast, that's for sure! More fun than I think I've ever had shooting, even before I got all the problems worked out of my Theoben.

But, now that the problems are gone, it simply unbelievable! I think I've learned more about shooting over the past six months than I ever knew during my 14 years of shooting rimfires.

And, as that saying goes: If you build it, They will come. Well, you've already got IT built, so now just schedule the first match, and let he rest know you're having it.

I know you are right Dave. It's just a bad time of the year to get started. What I CAN do is work on some shooters and get the word out.
I even have my own 4500 psi compressor that I could offer to anyone for free useage at a match.
