replacing savage extractor

I lost the savage extractor and detent ball out of the bolt head. I think that savage uses a sako style extractor. I've got the new parts coming from Brownells. To replace it, do you install the spring in the bolt hole followed by the detent ball? Then slide the extractor from the outside of the bolt head towards the firing pin? I'll probably do it inside a baggie so that if anything flys off, I won't be looking for it on my hands and knees for hours. Anything I'm missing?

Just push the ball down the hole and slide the extractor over the ball. I always deburr all the sliding surfaces on the extractor and it's groove in the bolt head.

And it doesn't hurt to put a dab (highly technical term) of grease on the spring and the ball to keep it from rolling off while you are trying to put things together.
