Replacement bolt handle

For all of you smiths.
Who would you get to install a 700 style bolt handle on a 600 action?
need to buy the handle and have someone install it for me.

Darrell Holland has done two for me...they are perfect...he does very nice work.

I could do my own, but have personally seen what Dan does and would send him my bolt handles to do with no hesitation. He and I spent close to an hour on the phone last week. I can say it was very educational. We discussed the bolt handle placement on many makes of rifle. We discussed a number of manufactures. Some very good and some who are not so good. Dan calls a spade a spade. From what I have seen he does excellent work. I would love to go to Dans shop for about a week and have him teach me many of his tecniques.

Ditto on Dan's 40X. You will never have to worry about the silver braze failing at the worst possible time and it will be done right.
One issue is that the replacement handles you get from Remington are pretty rough, with mold parting lines and tool marks. The handle is a lot easier to pretty up before its welded on, so either get a handle from Remington and do the work yourself or talk to Dan to make sure he will do it. The handle he did for me was ready to weld when I shipped it to him.

You just want to go to Alaska! He must have a micro tig as you have to look very close to see a bead. It only shows on the back of the bolt body because he does a great job filing and sanding when he is done. I told him that I wanted to finish mine.

I have a Miller 250 amp tig with high frequency. With a small torch and sharp tungsten I can easily make a 1/8 bead with or with out filler. Not that I could not learn more from Dan about tig welding but I would like to see his set-ups and jigs. Butch I already have a place in Alaska.

Thanks guys the suggestions,I have done 700 bolts before,but it is not worth the hassle for one every now and then.

The next time that you make it up to Lake I/AK,give me a shout & I'll TIG weld your initials into your finger nails for you!!!!
