Removal of firing pin

Wanting to have the ability to remove the firing pin assembly from my Rim Fire 40X for cleaning and/or replacement if the situation was to arise. The tool required to break down the bolt was easily identified, but my question is the disassembly of the firing pin/spring. Can anyone here tell me if the Kleinendorst firing pin tool with the hollowed out bolt, with block, will work for Rim Fire, 22LR, or is it strictly for center fire. Note this is the tool to compress the spring.
The one I'm speaking of is listed at the Brownells Site.
I can pull over a image if needed but I think those in the know, know what I'm speaking of.

Thanx,
Les

I haven’t seen the firing pin you speak of but, the standard Remington Firing pin disassembly tool is threaded 1/2x13 for the shroud to screw into. If the shroud on your bolt is threaded 1/2x13 and the firing pin is constructed like the firing pin in a Rem. 700 then yes, it should work.

I think what you are going to have to have is a part to sit down in the CF firing pin tool that is cutout for the rf firing pin and does not rotate when you screw in the threaded shaft of the tool.

Kinda hard to describe but if you think about it for a few minutes you will see what I am getting at. I was going to make one out of plastic or alum.
