This question may have been asked before, but since I an new I will ask anyway. Has anyone tried Remington Eley 22LR Match EPS ammo. It seems to be the best I can find at any of our local sporting good stores. I know that I may need to order better stuff, but since this is on the shelf I was wondering what kind of results it produces.

Thanks,

Ed

From what I have heard, the Remington Eley does not do that good in matches. However, if you find a lot# your rifle likes, by all means buy all you can..

Problem

The problem with buying off the shelf, is you don't get the latest production. This product is manufactured by Eley, for Remington. I have not found it to be of the same quality as the Eley Match EPS. It's best if you plan on using Eley, in quanity, then contact one of the stocking dealers, such as Killough Shooting Sports , Champions Choice or Bob Collins, and order your test lots from them. Several of these dealers will allow you several days to test the selected lots so you can make a more informed purchase.

As Dave said, if your rifle likes it, it's good. I've had some Eley/Remington that shot excellent in a rifle accurate enough to tell the difference. It used to be the same stuff as EPS black box match. The good lots and great lots of it, just like all the rest. It shoots as well as some Tenex I've bought. Try a few boxes and see before buying a whole lot of it though, as is true with all of it.

I bought a 4 boxes of the same ammo last winter at Cabells's. They were 2 different lot # and velocitys. I hadn't received my order from Bob Collins and had to use it at the last shoot. Well the wind was blowing and the ammo was the best that I had for that day. I did win but the scores were pretty low for all the shooters. It's best to have all the same lot # and velocitys for a match
