i recently acquired a remington 700 in 223 that had issues with piercing primers, the bolt face is severely pitted, can the bolt face be re faced and the firing pin be reworked?
It can be done but it would probably be best to have it inspected with the barrel off and see if the locking lugs recesses are okay or if they and the lugs need cleaning up (machining) and the bolt face done then... the factory barrel would require setting back to correct the headspace created by this work...
