Remington 722 sear spring

I need a sear spring for an early 722 in .300 Savage (serial #595XX). Is the current Rem700 sear spring suitable?

Regards,

Scott

Scott, the 700 spring should work fine. If you have one it's easy to check, just make sure that both sides of the sear bars come up evenly. All the spring does is raise the sear bar up after it fires so it can recock. It has little effect on weight of pull or how well the trigger works. As long as the trigger will reset every time, it should be fine. But, anytime you make changes, make sure that the trigger is safe and won't fire when the safety is disengaged or when the rifle is dropped on the butt of the stock.

Thank you for your response...I will try that and will follow up with the results per your recommendation.
