Anybody had good luck using reminigton 71/2 primers in 30 br???

Bill ...

I've used Remington 7.5 primers right from the start in my 223 Remington, 6mmBeggs, and 6mmPPC and intend to use them in my new 30BR. I've always gotten excellent results and I like working with them. I've used CCI BR4s, Federal 205 and 205Ms [they fall apart and create a mess when decapping], and Wolf. After giving the others a try, I intend to stay with the 7.5s. :)

I have used Remington 7-1/2 primers for years at various times including many in my 30BR's. I will warn you though I have one of my three Bats that will not set them off reliably even after I installed a new spring and had the firing pin recut to make the pin protrude a few thousandths more. I have never had the problem with any other of several other actions I have owned. The cups on the Remngton's are either thicker or harder and sometimes take more to set off than Fed 205's

Capt,
Got 2) different 30BR's I can switch from Rem 71/2 to Fed 205GM to WSR to Fed 205 to CCI and nothing changes,,,,,, same on 5-6 different factory benchrest class 223's, some people have finicky guns, guns are like women,,,,,, all the same, some just like different "stuff", ,,,,,,,,,,,try anything you can get so when the supply crunch hits you have more options,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the wind is my friend,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

My 6x47 would consistently pierce the rems where the cci 450's would merely crater.
For what its worth.
