Remington 541T trigger?

The trigger on my 541T is on borrowed time. It was starting to fire every so often when the bolt was closed. Gunsmith did all he could to get me though last year, and I totally forgot about the problem until now (senile). Does anyone have a clue where I might find a trigger so my gunsmith can do another excellent job on it? As far as I know, no one offers a replacement trigger. Will any other Remington triggers work on the 541T?

I sent Butch Hongisto a note, since he built the rifle. I thought I might better start looking myself.

Sure would appreciate any advice

Thanks

Gene

Hi Gene,

Just googled your 541 T trigger problem. This is what I've found.

I hope this is going to help. Just to let you know, your rifle is one good-looking rifle, what car buffs might call eye-candy.

Cheers,

Phil

Thanks Phil. Bad thing is 788's are higher than 541's now. INSANE. But at leat there is hope.

Now I'm trying to figure out how you remember what my Sporter looks like?

gene.....You posted pics of it when you bought it (RFC). I think in 2007...I remember what sweet wood that gun has, too.:)

Could you sell me some of that memory????

It will keep the same look. Pippin is so backed up on his stocks, I'll keep it as is.

I'm getting old, too. Just I can't remember things from last week. Events from years ago, are still 'fresh' .....and I have a slightly photographic memory (or did). :D

thanks for all the help. my gunsmith has installed several of the Timney 788 triggers in several 541 action. He said the modifications needed are simple. He ordered me one today
