Reminder about Birmingham Alabama (Brock's Gap) Shoot June 9-10

This is a reminder that we have an NBRSA Southeast Region shoot coming up in Birmingham June 9-10.

I am attaching a pdf with all the details including directions. No onsite camping is available, but we have a very good RV park a few minutes from the range (see attached file). Loading trailers will be fine, but no power will be available.

This will be a four gun at 100 yards (5 shot Unlimited).

Range will be open for practice starting around 9 am Thursday June 7th. Please do not show up expecting to shoot on Wednesday.

Release forms must be signed prior to shooting. Brock's Gap has a very strict rule about eyewear...glasses are required EVERYWHERE on club property between 9 am and 9 pm...no exceptions! Brock's Gap also has a very strict no alcohol policy.

I have indoor, air conditioned loading space for around 20-25 shooters. As always come prepared to fend for yourself just in case. I recommend bringing loading tables and easy ups just in case.

At this time I am not sure if we will have food available for lunch, so come prepared.

I am asking that you not send in pre-registrations and register after you arrive, but it would be nice if you could drop me an email and let me know if you are coming. My email address is lee.steven@att.net

I am leaving Friday for the Super Shoot and will be back on Memorial day, so if you can't reach me next week, that is why.

Y'all come and make our first shoot a success! See you there.
Steve

Steve, please post the GPS coordinates. I can't find the range on Google Earth.

Thanks

Roy

Its right off I-459 South of the Galleria. The entrance is off the S. Shades ck rd on the east side. In days of old it was known as the Elviria community and later Brocks gap training center. Hope this helps.

Brock's Gap GPS

Thanks Jerry, but I got that when I followed the directions. No problem there.

But I can't find the range. It's hidden in the trees or something on Google earth.

Can you give the coordinates for the range itself or the directions. Maybe I zigged instead of zagged.

Thanks, Roy

Roy, You can get a good view of the range on bing maps. I'm not a member but when I go to the club matches I go down through Tuscaloosa and take I 59 N to I 459n. I get off of I 459
at the Hwy 150 exit and go west less than 2 miles to S Shades creek rd. I then turn left and go South on Shades about 3/4 mi.( Not far from where Shades croses back over 459.) The range rd turns off to the left (east) and its probally over a mile to the range. If you go to Bing maps and type in N33 20 19.25 W86 52 28.00 and select birdseye you will see a partially obscured rd next to a rr track that intersects Shades crest. This rd leads to the range. From that point use the hand function and push from the bottom up, following that rd you will come to the range and there is a good view of it.
