Rem. model 6oo trigger

Can someone tell me if a model 700 trigger fill fit a model 600, or other alternatives. Thank you!
 
To install a 700 trigger group w/ safety in a Mdl 600/660/Xp-100 action a mill cut is required on the RH side of the rear tang for safety lever clearance.
 
Dan, will the 600 safety lever fit the 700 trigger as to avoid the mill work?

I was thinking XP-100.

600/660's tangs are cut for safety lever clearance.

The Rem 600 triggers shoe is about 1/2 further forward than a Rem 700 triggers shoe.The last company that actually made true Rem 600 triggers was Rifle Basix but they no longer make them.I know because I bought the last 3 he ever made.
The new triggers he sells for the 600 are actually 700 Remington triggers and the triggers shoe will almost hit your trigger guard it is so far back,Again its about 1/2 inch.
If your building a new gun with a new stock this isn't a problem as you can put the action 1/2 inch forward and your all set.On an existing gun putting a Jewell 700 trigger on it takes a little getting used to as your length of pull just got 1/2 inch shorter making you scrunch up on the gun.
Do you need an original 600 trigger or are you putting a lightweight trigger on your gun?

600 trigger

I had one that had a pull of about 8lbs. I sent it to Neal Jones and he lightened it to 16oz and it works great.

Lynn, I bought a 600 the other day with a broken trigger shoe, so I had to replace it. Just so happened to have an original 600 trigger lying around so I used it. It is one of the recall triggers so I am a little nervous about letting my kids use the gun. Hence the 700 trigger question, thought I might swap it out with a 700 trigger.

I didn't know they had a recall on the triggers.If the gun is for your kids use send me a mailing address were you can receive a small package.I might have something sitting around here collecting dust that you can put to good use.

I forgot this in the last post.On a 600 Remington it is a good idea to drill the bolts body to vent gas in case of a problem round.There is a 1 page picture of this with the spacing and placement in a magazine article but I don't have it handy.
It was a very common fix so somebody here probaly knows about it and can post a link.
