Current Remington version 572
Not certain about the copper colored barrel, but Remington still makes the Fieldmaster Model 572. This gun has been around for a long time, and I'm guessing this is what you have. I've owned a couple of the 522 semi-autos, and recently sold one for 2X of what I paid for it several years prior.
The quality of the wood and metal finish on the newer guns is much poorer than the old ones, for what it's worth.
Below is a link to the current page on their site:

Page 140 an old copy of the, "NRA guide to Firearms Assembly" has good info, and provides complete and general disassembly instructions.
The gun was introduced in 1955 to meet the demand for a "man sized" slide action rifle chamber for the "economical" .22. Guess they hadn't bought any Ely ammo when this was written!
"Initially it was offered with a steel barrel and American walnut stock, subsequently a lightweight version appeared featuring a barrel with steel liner and aluminum jacket. Variation of this model were offered with a stock of bleached Sun Grain walnut and the receivers and barrels colored bronze-brown (betting that's what you have), black or blue, under the catalog name of Buckskin Tan, Crow Wing Black, and Teal Wing Blue.
Suggest you check the barrel OD with a weak magnet, then the muzzle end, to see if this is one of the lined aluminum barrels.
If you'd like I could scan the pages as a PDF and E-mail them to you, out of the NRA book.
In terms of accuracy, they are good for an era .22 using the barrel mounted sites. The barrel mounts to the receiver with a screw, so if a scope is mounted, you get the typical issues of impact change, based on pressure (if loosely fit), or shift after cleaning, if the barrel is removed. Since the barrel can be removed, it is a nice feature, as it can be cleaned from the breach.
Hope this helps you out!
