I have a new HS Precision stock with bottom metal. The donor rifle is a short action ADL. I tried to put the barreled action in the stock, but the interior box magizene seems to be different on the ADL versus the BDL plus the front action screw is too short.

Have any of you ever done an ADL to BDL conversion? Thanks in advance!

The ADL uses a deeper magazine box, you need a BDL magazine box. When you purchase the BDL box be aware that they are somewhat caliber specific, a 223 size box has a filler in the back of the box wheras a 22/250 size does not have a filler block.

As far as the screw, you will need to go by your local gunsmiths or order one - it is not unusual to have to go to a different length screw when going to an aftermarket stock.

Thanks Found One

I found a caliber specific BDL box through Brownells. I would have never thought of the caliber specific part. Many thanks!

I believe that they are also avialable through Midway, unless you get a discount from Brownell's Midway may be cheaper.
