Reloading die question?

Hey guys!

Is there such a thing as a seating die that you can precisely adjust for seating a bullet, and if so who makes it. Or does any seating die good enough.

Sure, lots of folks. If you're using a press check the Redding with the micrometer adjustment as an example. Lots of board sponsers carry this stuff. Sinclair's would be a place to start.

I've used Wilson, RCBS and Redding competition seating dies. I'm sure there are others. I prefer the Wilson. I believe it's more precise. Get the Sinclair micrometer top for it. Art

The Cadillac of 6PPC dies is the JLC.

In my opinion, the JLC seating die is the best that I have seen. It is click adjustable with either .00125 inches/click or .0025 inches per click. It is very precise and repeatable and somewhat expensive at $145-$150. Good shooting....James Mock

Thanks guys. I thought I was asking a stupid question.

For a 7/8" threaded die I like the Forster Ultra Benchrest seater the best. The hash marks are farther apart than those on the Redding.

The tolerances are a gnat's whisker looser too which means that I've never buggered a die seating long bullets on compressed loads like I did with my Redding. I wish that the hash marks were more distinct though.

Here is what I use. A Wilson micrometer-top inline seating die.

Dies

Remeber not to measure seated depth or overall length off the meplat. Measure off the ogive with a comparator.

JLC Seater dies are available @ Bruno's Shooter Supply
I agree they are repeatable, nice when you are using different bullets
with different seating deapths.
