I have a 25/06 rem. Set up is sleeved Rem 700 action. Glued into a McMillan hunter stock. Rem BR trigger. Fluted Shillen select match barrel. 8x-32x-56 night force optics. It's on its second barrel and that barrel has reached half life. With the bullet 87gn Bergers almost out of the case as I chase the lands for the correct setaing depth the powder gap in the case gets greater. Shooting on ADI 2209 I switched to RE #19 to try and fill the space in the case more. It went from agg-ing in the .7s to the high .3s at 100yds.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with this cartridge and RE #19 ?

Andy.

What Calibre

Umm sounds like you got a pleasant surprise as well What calibre were you shooting and how much did the results improve by.

It was my 243 Win, 600 yard bench gun. Did some other work in between switching powders but it now aggs in the mid .3's @ 100.

So did my 25/06

My 25/06 rem has a barrel that has reached its half life. Chasing the seating depth as the lands get burned away. Was using 87 and 90 grain projectiles. Eventually had to go to 100g to get enough bullet in the case. It didn't like the combination of AR2209 which is the Aussie equivalent of IMR 4350. So I tried some RE #19. Put 60gn of it behind the 100 grainer which almost filled up the case and it went into the high .3's at a 100 yds and was still only in the high .6 of and inch centre to centre at 200 yds.
I will be trying it in the new barrel as well when that happens.
