The full results should be posted later, but I must congratulate Jeff Summers on a great 2-gun win. As usual, he made very few mistakes and shot well if not always tiny (the recipe for 2-gun wins). Mr. Summers is tough at any range at which he competes-and that has been the case for decades.
On to Mr. Jim Carmichel. He is sometimes referred to as "the only gun writer that can shoot". Well shoot he can...and a possible LV100 aggregate World Record to boot. The standing LV100 agg record was set in the last century: 1994 by Jef Fowler. It was a .1500 aggregate. Jim shot a range-measured .1328 with a set of boringly beautiful targets...dots all. The NBRSA Records Committee headed by Gene Bukys (his committee membership includes IBS Records Committee Chair Kent Harshman) will deliver the official verdict. As an aside, head scorer Gordon Earp is among the elite, so we shall see. If I were a betting man, I believe it will hold up.
Congratulations to the other winners: Matthew Keller with a fine .1650 HV100 agg. Jack Neary took the HV200. Conditions on Sunday were rather "sporting" and coolish as opposed to Saturday's benevolent zephyrs in the 100 yard contest. See the attach photo for a smorgasbord of conditions that your could choose from on Sunday afternoon while peering down at your 200 yard target.
Also the winners in the Grands were Allen Arnette and Lee Hachigan. Both shoot VERY well in Dublin.
This was a World Team points match so attendance was up from last year (maybe 20 or so?) for a total of 91, I think. MGGOA had shooters from Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and the rest of the usual suspects.
The MGGOA team did their usual top-notch job of hosting and putting on a great match.
