Refinishing help please..

Greetings: I have a new bench rest rifle that which has a Tooley MBR syle laminated wood stock that currently has a gloss finish. It has a Remington 700 action (single shot). I would like to repaint it with a glossy (automotive) paint and clear coat. I am relatively new to the sport so please excuse my ignorance. Any recommendations on refinishers would be appreciated.

Whoever puts the next finish on it needs to figure out if its compatible with the current one so itll stick. If you take it to your painter he will know

How close is it on weight?

A casual paint job can easily put you over if it's close......
