Redman Rimfire Bbl Liners as Airgun Bbls ??

Has anybody ever tried this ? They make a 20" twist 22 short bbl liner that would be interesting as an airgun bbl. My victim would be a Daisy 880 Powerline multipump bb gun. The liner is only slightly larger than the factory bbl. I would need to turn the breech end so it would be a precision fit in the Daisy receiver and then use Loctite to hold the bbl in place. I have a lathe and milling machine and do my own RF and CF bbl fitting. I would do the "chambering" with a custom ground HSS tool bit.

Have Fun

As a fun thing to do... go for it.

Most of the discussion here is about precision shooting at 25 targets in 20 minutes at an "X" ring that's 0.080" in diameter at 25 yards/meters.

I'm a hobby machinist as well; it's fun to do things like your project.

I have 1000 AGBR targets on the shelf and a Daystate CRX in a custom metal BR stock in the safe so I know what BR is [ not to mention 2 Halls, a 40X , a Suhl , a KK200 Walther rimfires: 30BR Viper, 6Beggs 40X cf. ]. I started this thread to hopefully get some discussion about air rifle building which it has.

The GTA is all about building airguns.

Sorry if you took my reply in a direction I didn't intend it to go.

If you check out several pages of this forum you will find very little discussion about general airgun projects. Most of the posts here are about match results, equipment, techniques, and subjects related only to the airgun benchrest discipline.

I usually go to the Gateway To Airguns forum http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org to read about and share airgun build information.

The GTA is a wonderful resource where you virtually find an unlimited source of information about building and modifying airguns. I know several hobby machinists on the site.

You will find several posts on the GTA about using barrel liners for airgun barrels.

The GTA has a Daisy Gate as well. http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=186.0 There are several posts in the Daisy Gate about modifying the Daisy 880 with longer barrels, modified hammers, trigger mods, etc. you won't find anything like that here.

Very little content on the GTA is about benchrest match results and equipment.

Another good source for posts about using barrel liners in airguns is the TalonAirGun forum. http://talonairgun.com/forum/

Both the GTA and TalonAirGun forums have Machinist areas that you may find interesting.

I wish you well with your project but mostly I hope you have fun with it.
