guys i posted this on the 600/1000 yd forum with little reply, so asking here.
this is what i had posted:
"ok...the bbl showed up today( that would be 4weeks and 3 days from ordering), i have not even done basic stuff to the action,
i will continue to pick the brains of fellow shooters.
it is a 300 win mag, 30 " heavy bbl with 17 lbs as a goal.(lots of lead).
whose got the "best" recoil lug ?"
i'm open to lots of input on building this rifle...but it must be work i can do
myself.
AND:
"ok , looks like a choice between mike burns and hollands. mike's is a full 1/4thick."
my tenative plan is bolt in, maybe with a lower bedding plate between pillars."
the bolt in plan is part of a long term idea that i might put it in a prone stock also.....
