rebushing a firing pin hole?

Who out there will bush a firing pin hole for me? I have a Teddy bolt that was bushed for a .062" firing pin, I want to get it rebushed for the same diameter pin. I'm not looking for a lot of why's or how comes, the only discussion I'm looking for is who will do this. I talked to a very reputable smith and he said he doesn't do it any more = PITA = let the young guy's do it.

Thanks Guy's

Danny take your South Bend H10 and do it yourself. Or, most of the rebush jobs I've seen were done by Greg Tannel. I have one he did because I had blown a dump truck load of primers. Turned out great and I use that bolt in my other Pandas when I want to really pull their chain.

Bushing the bolt face is easy but it takes some considerable skill to do a good job reducing the firing pin to the correct match with the bolts pin hole.

Jon Beanland in Oklahoma will do this job for you and he is very skilled. i THINK it will cost you right around 75 bucks. I have his number if you are interested. Besides buying some real fine work from Jon you will also meet one of the best men i know! Let me know if i can help. Lee

I'll second for Tannel. He must have stuff "at the ready" to do this, because he turns it around so fast. Good work too, and affordable. Sure you can do it yourself, but time gets in the way most of the time.

Wayne, Greg does have some dedicated equipment. He keeps a machine set up to grind firing pins and he keeps a lathe set up to bore out galled barrel tenons. He gets enough galled stainless barrels in galled stainless actions that it was easier just to dedicate a lathe to that function. That latter statement is enough to caution new "gunsmiths" to not get too fancy and try to make too-close fits on the theads for stainless actions.

Thanks for all the responces guy's. I put in a call to Greg and am waiting for a call back, he does look like the GO TO guy for this type of job. The price and turn around time are very attractive.

Thanks
Dan

You have presented a job that is not the same as "bushing a firing pin". There are several methods of rebushing a firing pin and going back a removing the "rebushed firing pin" could br relatively simple or quite complex. Do you know if the first rebush job was a threaded re bushing or a compression fit? It may also depend on the locking agent used permninent locktite, silver solder etc.

The original gunsmith may know potential problems and not want to reopen a kettle of worms.

Thanks for that Nat, the original owner of this gun has since gone to the br range in heaven, don't know who the orginal smith was, I've had this gun for 10 years. As I stated in my original post "the only dicussion I'm looking for is who will do this" I'm sure you mean well Nat, but we all know how a simple request for some basic infomation can snowball into something that isn't even close to the original post. Next thing I know we'll be talking about who took a dump in Egypt at 4:15 and 22 seconds this am. I have already gotten my answer that is much appreciated, and I have placed a call to Greg to talk about my unique situation = bolt face already having been bushed.;)
