Rear bag newbie question

Just starting out in F-Class. I will be using a Savage 12 F-Class in 6mmBR. The Sinclair F-Class bipod looks to be my bipod of choice. What I can't decide on is what size of rear bag I should get. I know a lot depends on my prone style. I'm more of a head-high shooter. Any guidelines?

If you are a head-high shooter you'll likely end up making some sort of block to fit under the rear bag regardless of what you buy. The Protektor bags from Sinclair with cordura bunny ears work pretty good.

the best advise I can give is go to the range and borrow someones bag if you don't have a bag at all.bring a tape measure and set up on the ground in your shooting position and take some measurements then call protecktor and have one made to your specs.being comfertable in your shooting position is very important.bring some spacers made out of wood to adjust hight till you get comfertable.also keep in mind ears that are too tall can get in the way of yor triger hand if you like your ears more forward on the bag.Protecktor makes 3 different ear hights. If your stock has a flat on the bottom of the rear measure how wide it is for the ear spacing.also if your stock has flat on bottom that tapers in measurement.my mbr tracker the flat measures about .475 near the pistal grip and gets bigger as you go twards the recoil pad.at the pad it is about .700.with long ears the stock would go up and down in the rear bag this drove me nuts.if posable check out some bags with nylon ears and some with leather ears also.I like nylon ears the gun slides easyer in the bags.the people at protecktor are very helpfull and know alot.there costumer service is awsome.I know what you are thinking a custom bag is more money, yes 30-50 more.I have been shooting 8 yrs ,all my guns have had the same exzact stock.I have spent 600 bucks on rear bags over that time.if I had known at the time I started I could get a custom one made I would have.good luck I hope this helps:D:D

Why are you on a Bi-Pod?

6BR is Open Class, in which case you can use any style front rest you wish, of course you'll still have to find the right rear set up....which milanuk nailed.
