Reamer question

Getting ready to build me a reamer holder.
Is the shanks for reamers all the same size?
What is this size?
Is it 1/2 inch (.500)

I think the best reamer "holders" do not hold the reamer by the diameter... they push the reamer and let it center in the bore.

The majority of reamers I have are 7/16", a few oldies are 1/2 inch and 3/8's ...

Mark Spencer brought some tools over Sunday and we made one for my Lathe, the reamers I have are all 7/16 or .4375. All the reamers were close with David Kiffs having the best fit in the .438 hole we reamed.
