Re-seating factory rounds

I was given a few thousand 300 WinMag rounds that have 220 Sierra MatchKing bullets, the problem is they are to long for the mag box ? Can I re-seat the bullets about 3/32" with out too much pressure issues ?? The rifle is a Browning BAR.

Can I lower a bullet a little and then handload that round in the rifle, shoot it, then check for pressure issues. Repeat until I get to the right length. I think these rounds are longer than norm with the 220 matchking.

If the case mouths are crimped on the bullet you're likely to have a problem seating the bullets deeper, if they're not crimped there shouldn't be a problem. You won't likely have pressure problems because you'll have increased freebore by the 3/32" you've seated the bullets into the cases so pressure might even be decreased some. Turn your seating stem in 3/32" and try one. If the case neck doesn't bulge so that the round won't chamber you're likely good to go.
